What is a Network?
A group of computer systems that is linked together, with or without cables, is called a Network. Networks, which are often wireless, are widely used in the field of communication. There are some other uses of networking. We can also see in some PC or Computer in which has a Network Card Some of these are:
☝ Resource Sharing: Networked hardware can be shared by many people. For example, a single printer can be used by many children in the school computer lab if it is connected to the network. Software too can be shared in a similar fashion.
☝ Economics Factors: Resource sharing brings down the total expenditure on hardware and software. Buying LAN versions of software is very economical as compared to buying separate copies of the software for each system. Also one network printer can be used by all the users of a network.
☝ Quick Data Transfer: People connected to a network can communicate easily and quickly and transfer data among themselves in a few moments, regardless of the physical distance between them. The data could be in the form of text, video, audio, graphic, etc.
